Why I Don't Like Me
Have You Ever Fallen out of Favour With One of Your Best Friends?
After High school, it is easy to drift away slowly.
Life goes on, and that close friend of yours fades into oblivion as if they fell into a black hole.
You actively stopped hanging out with some of your friends because you started to find some of their character traits repulsive.
On the other hand, you have your “for-life” friends. These are the people with who you hope that your grandchildren and theirs will get along. You seem to resonate with that person. They bring out the best in you. You have so much in common.
What is the Difference Between a True Friend and a Faded Friend?
Your friends are the embodiment of all the righteous characteristics that you like about yourself. The friends you let go of, is an attempt to get rid of some character traits that you may find repulsive.
Have you ever thought that the people you left behind are the personification of the traits that you do not like about yourself?
If you think deeply, you may have let the close relationship die because there was a part of you that did not like the honest reflection that you saw.
Acknowledge Your Shadow
Hiding the dark side of your personality will limit you as a person.
I'm not saying that you need to make friends with those people, but you should dive deep into the relationship dynamics to discover what traits exist within you that you are trying to hide.
If you can do this successfully, you can leverage this dark side and live your life with greater clarity and confidence.
